Betting on the Houston Cougars
- Regular Season Record: 21-2
Depending on where you look, Houston is the No.1, 2, or 3 team in the nation. Per the AP Poll, the Cougars are No. 1. According to top KenPom, Houston is No. 1. In any case, it’s clear that Houston is arguably the best team in Division I basketball right now. Houston is on a three-game roll, having beaten the UCF Knights (82-71), the Cincinnati Bearcats (75-69), and the Wichita State Shockers (70-61) on its way to the rematch versus Temple.
The Cougars lost to Temple on Jan. 22 at home, 56-55, and that is still their only loss so far t his season. Even then, Houston remains on top of the AAC standings with a 9-1 conference record and is yet to lose a game this season on the road.
The Cougars, who are 7-0 this season in games played away from home, are also 5-5 ATS in their last 10 games overall.
Betting on the Temple Owls
- Regular Season Record: 14-9
Say what you want to say about Temple, but it’s got a win already in its pocket against Houston this season. And the Owls did that in Houston’s territory, so they should be brimming with confidence this time around, as they take their turn as the home team in this matchup. The Owls have been hot of late as well.
They are 4-0 in their last four games and are coming off a 77-70 overtime victory on the road over the UCF Knights. Like Houston, defense is the name of the game for the Owls, who are limiting foes to down to only 68.1 points per game. It’s not quite as good as Houston’s D, but they still held the Cougars to just 33.9 FG% in the first meeting.
Temple is 8-2 ATS in its last 10 games overall.
