Betting on the Iowa State Cyclones
- Regular Season Record: 17-9
Iowa State has been very shaky over the past several weeks. After winning their first four games against Big 12 rivals, the Cyclones have gone just 4-6 straight up against their next games in conference play.
That includes their 61-55 road loss to the Kansas State Wildcats last Saturday, which came just after they defeated the TCU Horned Frogs at home on Feb. 15, 70-59. But one of Iowa State’s biggest wins of the season thus far was its 78-67 takedown of the then-ranked No. 7 Texas in Ames last January.
Senior forward Jaren Holmes scored 21 points in that game, while Iowa State’s pesky defense caused the Longhorns to commit 13 turnovers. Every team facing Iowa State this season will have to be extra careful with the leather because the Cyclones are fourth in the nation in defensive steals rate and sixth with 9.3 steals per game. The Under is 3-0 in Iowa State’s last four games.
Betting on the Texas Longhorns
- Regular Season Record: 21-6
Texas got the business done in its most recent outing, as the Longhorns beat the Oklahoma Sooners at home via overtime last Saturday, 85-83. It’s the Longhorns’ fifth win in their last seven games and one that put them back in the win column right away after losing to the Texas Tech Red Raiders on Feb. 13 in Lubbock, 74-67. Between Texas and Iowa State, the Longhorns are the much better team on offense.
Texas is 12th in Division I basketball with 117.5 points per 100 possessions adjusted and 19th nationally with 79.7 points per game average. Marcus Carr leads the Longhorns with 17.1 points per game, while three other Texas players average at least 9 points per contest. Texas is 3-1 against the spread in its last four games as the home team.
JefeBet Prediction
