Betting on the Kansas State Wildcats
- Regular Season Record: 19-5
The Wildcats are coming off a surprisingly easy 82-61 victory at home over the No. 17 TCU Wildcats on Tuesday. Kansas State entered that game coming off back-to-back losses to the Kansas Jayhawks and the Texas Longhorns, two teams regarded as serious national title contenders and were both inside the top 10 in the AP Poll at the time of those games.
Kansas State is being toughened up by an incredibly difficult schedule and this upcoming trip to Lubbock will be the first time in four games that the Wildcats will play against a non-Top 25 team. Kansas State has already beaten the Red Raiders this season, which was back in January in Manhattan, with the Wildcats scoring a 68-58 win. Keyontae Johnson and Marquis Nowell combined for 38 points in that game for Kansas State, which is 5-0 against the spread in its last five outings.
Betting on the Texas Tech Red Raiders
- Regular Season Record: 12-12
Texas Tech is at the bottom of the Big 12 standings, but it will be entering Saturday’s game against Kansas State having won the last time the Red Raiders played in Lubbock. After beating the LSU Tigers in Baton Rouge on Jan. 28, 76-68, the Red Raiders scored an upset victory over the Iowa State Cyclones at home on Jan. 30 via overtime, 80-77.
That was a huge win for Texas Tech, and that was also the first victory against a conference opponent this season for the Red Raiders. Although Texas Tech lost to the Wildcats in the first meeting, the Red Raiders did have success there on defense, forcing Kansas State to commit 14 turnovers. De’Vion Harmon and Pop Isaacs each had 13 points for Texas Tech in the loss to the Wildcats, while TTU’s season leader in points, Kevin Obanor had nine points. The Over is 8-2 in Texas Tech’s last 10 home games.
JefeBet Prediction
We are expecting a better performance this time around by Kevin Obanor than when the Red Raiders first met Kansas State. Texas Tech dominated the possession in that game by a huge margin, with the Red Raiders taking 71 attempts from the field to just 47 by Kansas State. TTU is due for a better shooting conversion rate.
Prediction: Texas Tech spread.
