Betting on the Missouri Tigers

  • Regular Season Record: 18-6

After a road loss to the Mississippi State Bulldogs that ended their three-game undefeated streak, the Tigers got back in the win column by taking down the South Carolina Gamecocks last Tuesday at home, 83-74. Thanks to that win, Mizzou is over .500 again in conference play with a 6-5 record versus SEC opponents.

The Tigers know they can beat anyone on any given day because they trust their offense so much. And how can’t they? Missouri is ninth in the nation with an average of 119.2 points per 100 possessions adjusted. It is 12th in Division I basketball with a 55.8 effective field goal percentage. Tennessee’s defense is known to be among the best in college, but it’s got to be in top form versus these Tigers, who have six players averaging at least 8.5 points per outing.

Mizzou is 3-2 ATS in its last five games.

Betting on the Tennessee Volunteers

  • Regular Season Record: 19-5

Tennessee is a team expected to go deep in March Madness. It is arguably the best team in the nation, thanks in large part to its defense which has been successful more often than not this season in snuffing out opposing attacks. The Vols’ are so tenacious in guarding the perimeter and effective in forcing turnovers at a high rate

Tennessee’s backcourt features the pair of Jahmai Mashack and Zakai Zeigler, who are the players opposing ball carriers likely would like to see last as they bring up the ball. Mashack leads the Vols with a 5.5 STL% while Zeigler is behind close with a 4.3 STL%, heading into the meeting on Wednesday with Vanderbilt. The Volunteers are 3-1 ATS in their last four games versus Missouri.

JefeBet Prediction

As great as Tennessee has been this season, it can’t feel overconfident against Missouri, The Tigers have proven their mettle with wins against the likes of the Illinois Fighting Illini, Kentucky Wildcats, Arkansas Razorbacks, and Iowa State Cyclones. They will give the Volts a good fight.

Prediction: Missouri covers.
