Betting on the Purdue Boilermakers

  • Regular Season Record: 24-5

Purdue is still on top of the Big Ten standings, with a 13-5 record in conference play, but the Boilermakers are far from satisfied. After all, they are coming off a tough 79-71 home loss to the Indiana Hoosiers last Saturday, so they are looking to vent out their frustrations.

Wisconsin presents that opportunity for Purdue, which is 10th in Division I basketball this season thus far with 119.3 points per 100 possession adjusted and 19th with only 94.7 points allowed per 100 possessions adjusted. Another key asset of Purdue is its rebounding, which is just about what many would expect of a team that is being led by a 7-4 center in Zach Edey. The Boilermakers, who are No. 1 in the Big Ten with a 37.8 ORB%, are 4-5-1 ATS in their last 10 games overall.

Betting on the Wisconsin Badgers

  • Regular Season Record: 16-12

Wisconsin is also coming off a loss, as the Badgers fell prey to the Michigan Wolverines last Sunday in Ann Arbor, 87-79. That game actually went to overtime, but the Badgers just didn’t seem to have enough gas left in the tank to keep up with the Wolverines. Wisconsin has not won or lost back-to-back since the start of February.

That’s an eight-game stretch in which the Badgers went 4-4 straight up, and if that trend is to hold up, then there will be great news waiting for them this Thursday at Madison. Wisconsin plays a deliberately slow pace, which is why it is 351st in the nation in terms of adjusted tempo and also why opponents are scoring only 63.7 points against them. The Under is 3-1 in Wisconsin’s last four games.

JefeBet Prediction

Purdue’s rebounding will allow it to control the game’s pace according to its favor, but the Badgers will not make it easy at all for the Boilermakers. Expecting a close fight here.

Prediction: Wisconsin spread.
