Betting on the San Diego State Aztecs

San Diego State pulled off yet another heartstopping comeback to get to the finals of the 2023 NCAA tournament. After escaping with a 57-56 win against the Creighton Bluejays in the Elite Eight round, the Aztecs booked their trip to the National championship game by erasing a 7-point halftime lead in the Final Four round against the Florida Atlantic Owls to win that matchup, 72-71.
Defense has been the major key to success for the Aztecs this season and they have all the intention in the world to continue leaning in that in the title game. No team has recorded a better effective field goal percentage against San Diego State in the Big Dance than 41.28%. Moreover, the Aztecs’ best player, Matt Bradley has finally come alive on offense, as he scored 21 points in the Final Four — a good sign for San Diego State, heading into the championship round.
Betting on the Connecticut Huskies

Unlike San Diego State, the Huskies were barely challenged in the national semifinal round, as the Huskies thwarted the Miami Hurricanes, 72-59. It was an amazing display of great basketball on offense and defense for UConn, which shot 49.1 FG% and held the Hurricanes to only 32.3 FG%. How the Huskies were able to silence Miami in that manner was already a huge statement sent by Connecticut to the Aztecs.
Miami came to the Final Four round averaging over 80 points per game but struggled all contest long to find its rhythm. That also means that Connecticut’s defense has already embarrassed two of the best offenses in the nation in its last two games, as the Huskies also humbled the Gonzaga Bulldogs in the Elite Eight for an 82-54 win. On offense, Connecticut is just as deadly, with the Huskies being led by the duo of Jordan Hawkins and Adama Sanogo, who had 13 and 21 points in the Final Four, respectively.
