The Aztecs prevented an upset in the first round by holding off the Charleston Cougars on Thursday, 63-57. Matt Bradley delivered the goods for San Diego State, pouring a game-high 17 points with seven rebounds and four assists in 28 minutes.

This is a team that isn’t afraid to let it fly from behind the arc. In the regular season, the Aztecs ranked 18th nationally with 9.4 3-pointers per game. They were also a top-10 team in terms of scoring, unloading 80.4 points per contest. Furman just solved Virginia’s defense – one of the best in Division I basketball –, so it definitely thinks and believes it can do the same to San Diego State’s D.
