Betting on the South Carolina Gamecocks
- Regular Season Record: 10-18
South Carolina is going to need a miracle to join the party come March Madness time. But the Gamecocks have looked much better of late than when it started SEC play with 10 losses to league rivals against just a single victory. And even though they are the clear underdogs in this upcoming matchup against the Vols, the Gamecocks can draw confidence from the fact that Tennessee has taken quite a stumble of late, as it has lost to the the likes of the Vanderbilt Commodores and Missouri Tigers.
South Carolina is also having success on the road against the spread this season, and it’s probably still a good time to capitalize on the Gamecocks under that scenario. In fact, the Gamecocks are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games away from home, dating back to last November.
Betting on the Tennessee Volunteers
- Regular Season Record: 20-8
Tennessee is surprisingly struggling again. Just when it looked like the Volunteers have corrected their course by stopping a two-game losing skid with a 68-59 stunner of the Alabama Crimson Tide at home on Feb. 15, they fell back to the ground again with back-to-back losses to the Kentucky Wildcats and the Texas A&M Aggies, both on the road.
Having said all of that, the Vols should feel great about their chances of finally ending their winless run this Saturday against South Carolina. After all, the Volunteers destroyed the Gamecocks last January on the road in an 85-42 victory. Tennessee posted a 58.8% eFG% in that game while holding the Gamecocks to only 29.2 eFG%. The Volunteers’ defense is arguably the best in the nation, as it is No. 1 overall with an 86.2 adjusted defensive efficiency. Tennessee is 6-4 ATS in its last 10 home games.
JefeBet Prediction
Coming back home to face a lowly Gamecocks squad is just what the doctor ordered for Tenneessee. The Vols win a convincing one on Saturday.
