Betting on the Texas A&M Aggies
- Regular Season Record: 24-8
Texas A&M is scorching. After finishing the regular season with a massive 67-61 victory over the Alabama Crimson Tide at home last Saturday, the Aggies defeated the Arkansas Razorbacks in the quarterfinals of the SEC tournament. The Aggies’ rebounding was a big headache for Arkansas, as Texas A&M collected 43 boards to just 26 by the Razorbacks.
Texas A&M crashed the board hard, especially on offense, as the Aggies came down with 17 offensive rebounds to just eight by Arkansas. Texas A&M is a top-10 team in the nation in terms of offensive rebounding rate, and that will be a crucial weapon for the team in the semifinals, as it helps the Aggies limit the touches of their opponents. No wonder they finished the regular season allowing only 65.6 points per game.
Betting on the Vanderbilt Commodores
- Regular Season Record: 20-13
How about those Commodores? The sixth-seed Vanderbilt is set to play in the semifinals of the SEC tournament after knocking out the Kentucky Wildcats in an upset 80-73 win Friday night. Vanderbilt has completely turned things around after a bad start to conference play.
In fact, the Commodores have won 10 of their last 11 games, a stretch that includes two wins against Kentucky and a victory over the likes of the Tennessee Volunteers and Auburn Tigers. This does not look like the same team that Texas A&M beat in late January, 72-66. This is a Commodores unit that has gotten way more dangerous ever since. One reason for that is Vandy’s offense that has recorded at least a 58.0 eFG% in three of the Commodores’ last five outings.
JefeBet Prediction
Vanderbilt’s run will end in the semis of the tournament, but it’s going to put up a fight, primarily because of its offense.
Prediction: Texas A&M wins, 78-76.
