Betting on the Texas Longhorns
- Regular Season Record: 18-4
Texas scored a big win to start the week on Monday, as the Longhorns defeated the Baylor Bears at home, 76-71. With that win, the Longhorns effectively took solo control of the top spot in the Big 12 with a 7-2 conference record. Even though Marcus Carr was held to only five points on 2/8 shooting, the Longhorns managed to eke out that win, thanks to their defense and the scoring of Sir’Jabari Rice, Timmy Allen, and Tyrese Hunter.
Rice came off the bench and fired 21 points, while Allen and Hunter combined for 31 points. Texas also held Baylor to just 36.8 FG%, which wasn’t easy to do, considering that the Bears are one of the best offensive teams in Division I basketball. That job on defense sends a strong message to Kansas State. In the first meeting with the Wildcats, Hunter and Carr had 29 and 27 points, respectively,m albeit in a 116-103 home loss in Austin.
Texas is 3-1 ATS in its last four games.
Betting on the Kansas State Wildcats
- Regular Season Record: 18-4
Kansas State fell prey to the Kansas Jayhawks in Lawrence on Tuesday, 90-78, for the Wildcats’ second loss in three games and third in conference play. Despite the loss, Keyontae Johnson managed to shine for the Wildcats, who are third in the Big 12 in adjusted offensive efficiency with 108.1 points per 100 possessions.
Johnson scored 22 points in the loss to Kansas, and he’ll look to duplicate – or come close to – the performance he dropped in the win over Texas earlier this month. In that game, Johnson erupted for 28 points to go with nine rebounds. As a team, the Wildcats shot an incredible 60 FG% and hit 13 of 24 (54.2 3FG%) shots from behind the arc versus Texas.
Kansas State, which leads the Big 12 with a 38.0 3FG% in conference action, is 8-2 ATS in its last 10 games.
JefeBet Prediction
