Betting on the Tulsa Golden Hurricane
- Regular Season Record: 1-10
Tulsa is still a 1-win team in AAC play after absorbing an 86-75 loss at the hands of the Wichita State Shockers last Sunday. With that defeat, the Golden Hurricane have seen their losing streak extend to four games. Ending that skid this Wednesday against Houston is going to be an extremely tough ask for Tulsa for a number of reasons.
For one, they did not look remotely competitive when they got blown out of the water in an 89-50 home loss in the first meeting this season with Houston back in late December. That being said, there is always hope that Tulsa can at least cover the spread. Take note that Houston is just 3-7 ATS in its last 10 games as the home team.
Betting on the Houston Cougars
- Regular Season Record: 10-1
Houston, meanwhile, is having fun again. After losing to the Temple Owls on Jan. 22, the Cougars have recorded four wins in a row, the latest being an 81-65 victory over that same Owls team last Sunday on the road. That was Houston’s 10th win in conference play and its chances of netting its 11th at the expense of the Golden Hurricane should be very high.
Tulsa’s defense is one of the worst not just in the conference but in the entire nation. The Golden Hurricane are allowing 76.5 points per game and are a sub-270 team in terms of adjusted defensive efficiency with 110.0 points allowed per 100 possessions. J’Wan Roberts led the Cougars in the first meeting with Tulsa, as he scored 15 points, while three other Houston players had at least 12 points. Houston is 7-3 ATS in its last 10 games.
JefeBet Prediction
Tulsa is still a bad team. Houston knows it can’t lose in this game with every sign pointing toward its favor. Houston’s offense will have a field day against Tulsa’s ever-porous defense.
Prediction: Houston wins by at least 20 points.
