  • Regular Season Record: 17-3

The Hoos extended their win streak to seven games – the longest active overall among ACC teams – by downing the Syracuse Orange last Monday on the road, 67-62. That victory also improved Virginia’s conference record to 9-2, putting them in a good position to eventually win the ACC regular-season title. As always, Virginia’s defense is a problem for its opponents.

On the season, the Cavaliers are allowing just 60.2 points per game, which is eighth overall in Division I basketball. At the same time, Virginia is a pretty good 3-point shooting team. It went 9/21 from deep in the Syracuse game and recently drained 15 threes on 34 attempts in a road win over the Wake Forest Demon Deacons last week.

Virginia is 3-0-1 ATS in its last four games overall.

Betting on the Virginia Tech Hokies

  • Regular Season Record: 13-9

Virginia Tech suffered a 92-83 road loss to the Miami Hurricanes on Tuesday to end a nice little two-game win streak. Before losing to the Canes, the Hokies defeated the Duke Blue Devils (78-75) and Syracuse (85-70), thanks to an incredible offense, particularly to great outside sniping. The Hokies are hoping to recover their touch from behind the arc in time for the rematch against Virginia.

When Virginia Tech lost to the Cavaliers, 78-68, on Jan. 18, the Hokies shot 44.4% (12/27) from the 3-point area. In three of their last five outings, the Hokies have knocked down at least 10 3-pointers, including a 13/32 showing in the Syracuse game. The

Virginia Tech, which entered the meeting with the Hurricanes averaging 73.9 points per game this season, is 5-2 ATS in its last seven at home.

JefeBet Prediction

Virginia Tech can give the Cavaliers’ renowned pack line defense trouble with its outside shooting and a guard-heavy attack led by Sean Pedulla. This is going to be a close game with the Hokies covering.

Prediction: Virginia Tech covers.
