Top 5 Best NBA Contracts of All Time

The NBA has grown enormously in terms of fans and marketing in recent years, thanks to a policy of globalization that has been reflected in a substantial increase in the contracts of the top players in the game. An example of this is the following list, in which we list the five largest contracts in the history of the circuit.

5.- Best NBA Contracts of All Time – Rudy Gobert

The French center has earned a place in the discussion of the best position players in the history of the circuit, not so much for his offensive performance, but for how dominant he is with his defense under the backboard. The Utah Jazz, the team Gobert debuted with in 2013-14, knows that very thing and offered him a five-year, $205 million contract extension at the start of 2021 in large part because of his three Defensive Player of the Year awards.

4.- Best NBA Contracts of All Time – Russell Westbrook

The Los Angeles Lakers point guard’s contract has gone through many teams since he was signed in 2018 when he played his final season with the Oklahoma City Thunder. At that time, the now 33-year-old and “King of the triple-double” sealed a five-season, nearly $207 million extension. The year after signing, he was traded to the Houston Rockets, a year later to the Washington Wizards and as of this campaign, the fourth-ranked player on the list of the NBA’s biggest contracts, he is part of the Lakers.

3.- Best NBA Contracts of All Time – Luka Doncic

After marking a decade since the Dallas Mavericks’ only NBA Finals win last season, the Dallas team has secured the services of Luka Doncic for five campaigns offering him, prior to the current U.S. league campaign, one of the largest contracts in history at US$207 million. A more than well-deserved figure for the 22-year-old Slovenian, who has already won the league’s Rookie of the Year award and has been called to the All-Star Game twice.

2.- Best NBA Contracts of All Time – Stephen Curry

There was no need for the Golden State Warriors to wait for Curry to become the player with the most three-pointers in league history this season to establish himself in second place for the largest contracts in NBA basketball history. Prior to the current season, when he was approached with a four-year, $215.3 million offer, the point guard was a two-time NBA MVP, a two-time scoring champion, a seven-time All-Star and a three-time All-Star who led Golden State to an NBA title.

Best NBA Contracts of All Time – Giannis Antetokounmpo

The Milwaukee Bucks’ Greek player is considered by far the most complete player in the NBA today. With an average of more than 20 points per commitment in his career and a Defensive Player of the Year award in 2019-20, the contract offered in 2021, by the organization, seems more than reasonable, especially if we talk about it being the most important in the history of the league.

“The Greek Freak”as he is nicknamed, signed for five years and $228.2 million, honoring his two league MVP awards, his five All-Star Game appearances and his MVP of the 2020-21 Finals, in which he led the Bucks to their second title. The Greek “God” is number one on our list of biggest contracts in NBA history.
