Betting on United States
The USA are having fun on the court in Manila. They have looked untouchable through two games in the first round. After clobbering New Zealand in a 99-72 victory, the Americans took down Greece on Monday, 109-81. They are performing at the level everyone expected them to play at. USA’s size, athleticism, speed, and just pure talent are seemingly too much for their rivals in the 2023 FIBA World Cup.
The Americans are shooting 58.3 percent from the field and connecting on 42.5 percent of their 3-point attempts. They are having their way inside and out, as they’re also shooting 66.2 percent on their 2-point attempts. New Zealand and Greece are the top two biggest challengers to the United States in Group C play, which, in other words, means that they should be able to defeat Jordan even with their eyes closed, so to speak.
Betting on Jordan
Even Jordan know that they are going to need a miracle of almost biblical proportions to beat the United States. That being said, covering the spread should be a much easier task for Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and company. Jordan are still seeking their first win in the tournament after losing to Greece (92-71) and to New Zealand (95-87). Thanks to Hollis-Jefferson, however, Jordan were able to have their moments.
The former NBA first-rounder is averaging 31.5 points per game while making 54.3 percent of his shots from the field. He has been playing so well that he’s been getting nonstop Kobe Bryant comparisons. In the loss to New Zealand, RHJ went off for 39 points on 12/24 shooting from the floor while Freddy Ibrahim chipped in 22 points.
El Jefe’s Prediction on United States vs Jordan
Team USA will dominate and win against Jordan, no questions asked. Also, expect the United States to cover the dizzying spread.
Prediction: The USA get the win, 101-54.
