The boxing referee, Jesús Granados, starred in an unusual episode in the world of sports: he abandoned a fight right after receiving a blow to the chest, according to information provided by Sky Sports.
Granados was refereeing the fight between Irvin Turrubiartes and Gerardo Valenzuela, when he unexpectedly received an accidental aggression, which ended up causing him to leave the ring, mounted on a stretcher.
It is important to detail that the unfortunate event occurred in the final seconds of the third round of the fight, due to a Valenzuela’s hook that hit the authority of the fight.
After Granados quit, another referee was in charge of handling the rest of the fight, which ended with a victory for Turrubiartes by K.O. in the seventh round.
After dramatic images of the incident were leaked, it was learned that the affected referee is out of danger, although he will probably be resting for a considerable time before continuing to judge professional fights.
