It will be the third time Juan Francisco Estrada meets Chocolatito González in the ring. The previous two shared the victories. In 2012, in Los Angeles, the Nicaraguan won by points and retained the world light flyweight title. But the last one in 2021, Estrada won in a clash in which two super flyweight world belts were at stake.
Estrada, nicknamed El Gallo and a native of Sonora, Mexico, has González as the biggest rival of his entire career. He was the flyweight champion between 2013 and 2015 until he decided to move up a category. And there he met González’s tormentor, Thailand’s Sor Rungvisai, who defeated him in 12 rounds in Inglewood in 2018. The following year he would take revenge on the Thai and two years later, also on González.

Román González is a true symbol of Nicaraguan sport, and has been a professional for more than a decade and a half. He started at minimum weight, where he was champion for two years. Then he went through the mini flyweight and flyweight categories until he reached his current category. In all four he was a world champion, a true prodigy.
It was only in his 47th fight that he lost his unbeaten record, when Thailand’s Srisaket Sor Rungvisai took away the WBC super flyweight world belt he had won from Mexico’s Carlos Cuadras in the previous bout. Rungvisai beat him again in the rematch.
In 2020 he won the WBA super flyweight title from England’s Khalid Yafhai, but lost it to none other than his next opponent, Juan Francisco Estrada, in Dallas after a split decision.
JefeBet Prediction
It promises to be a fight with all the spice of two men who know each other perfectly. However, González’s greater experience will weigh throughout the twelve rounds, and the Nicaraguan will prevail without a doubt.
