The Dallas Cowboys head into Week 4 of the NFL season with their hopes restored after they seemed to fade following a Week 1 loss to the Buccaneers and Dak Prescott’s right thumb injury.
However, Cooper Rush has done the job and the defense has held the advantages to have the team with a 2-1 record when it comes to dealing with their duel against the Washington Commanders during the fourth week of action, at home, with the mission of continuing to put pressure on the Eagles at the top of the NFC East.
Despite a first half in which they scored only six points, the Cowboys settled down with ownership in the second half to defeat the Giants 23-16 in New York. The defense was the main protagonist of the night, and it looks like it will be again against Washington.
The Cowboys lead the league in catches with 13, while the Commanders are the team that has allowed the most sacks with 15 by conceding nine to the Eagles defense. This makes it impossible for Carson Wentz to hurt his opponents and Dallas has the weapons to put pressure on him again.
Predictions, Odds, and Betting Preview for the Dallas Cowboys in Week 4 of the 2022 NFL season
Moneyline (-175 from BetMGM)
While the Cowboys’ offense is not the most potent on the circuit, Cooper Rush has found a way to keep the offensive series alive and against the Commanders, a team that has not allowed fewer than 22 points in each of their duels this year, the quarterback can have another standout performance.
The 20 points scored against the Bengals and 23 against the Giants were enough to secure the victory with a defense that has not allowed more than 19 touchdowns all year. In Washington, this formula will not be much different.
Spread (-3.5 from BetMGM)
The Cowboys are not expected to overwhelm the Commanders, but the solidity of their defense may allow them to end up winning the game with some peace of mind.
In the last seven games played between the two the favorite has a 5-2 mark against the spread, while Washington has a 1-4 record playing against the spread in the last five clashes against Dallas.
Over/Under (42.5 from BetMGM)
Dallas’ offense should score for the second straight week above 20 points, considering the Commanders have not allowed less than that this season. However, it seems unlikely that Washington can score more than two dozen points against a defense that has not allowed that many all season.
Although the Over is 7-0 in its last seven games in Dallas and 10-3 in its last 13 games, this Sunday the reality for both teams is closer to the Under.

Dallas Cowboys Future Odds after Week 3
Over/Under wins in the season: Over 8.5(-120 from BetMGM) / Under 8.5(-110 from BetMGM)
Cowboys win NFC East ( +500 from BetMGM)
The Cowboys went from (+550) to (+500) thanks to Monday’s win over the Giants that puts them second in the division. However, the Eagles’ good start, who remain undefeated and have won comfortably, keeps them as favorites to win the group.
In Week 6 Dallas and Philadelphia meet and possibly Dak Prescott will be back. A win against the Commanders, before visiting the Rams, is essential to continue closing the gap.
Cowboys win NFC Conference (+1800 from BetMGM)
Although Dallas dropped from (+2000) to (+1800) thanks to its win against the Giants, the strong schedule and the team’s performance so far, especially on offense, makes it very difficult to project coach Mike McCarthy’s team as a possible favorite to win the AFC over the Rams, Buccaneers, or Packers.
Cowboys win Super Bowl (+3300 from BetMGM)
As for their potential Super Bowl win, Dallas needs Prescott to get healthy as soon as possible if they want to have a modicum of hope. Defense will play an important role, but without offense the Cowboys will not be able to beat either the NFC powerhouses or AFC favorites like the Bills, Chiefs or Chargers.
Micah Parsons wins DPOY (+250 DraftKings)
Despite having a fairly quiet game against the Giants, Micah Parsons remains the favorite to win the Defensive Player of the Year award. The Cowboys linebacker is tied for second in catches with four and the uncertainty of the severity of Myles Garrett’s injury following a traffic accident, Parsons takes on greater favoritism.
