Much has been said about Drew Lock‘s ability to be the starting quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks in the upcoming NFL season.
His abilities to lead a team have been so questioned that not only is he considered one of the worst quarterbacks in the league by NBC analyst Chris Simms, being rated below seven alternates, but not even the official Twitter account of the US Open trust him.
The intriguing, and we don’t know if ironic, conversation began after a Seahawks’ fan responded to the US Open account claiming that Tennis was not a sport.
Of course, the representation of one of the four Grand Slams of the sport didn’t like it at all and reminded the fan that he will have to watch a “sport” that has Drew Lock as QB for 17 engagements.
From that point forward, not only did Lock take it personally, but several Seahawks players entered into the hilarious thread generated by the hurting US Open.
Lock finally put a stop to it by receiving a thank you from the US Open account, to which the QB sent his regards, especially to the intern who manages it.
The question we’re left with from all this is whether the US Open account identifies with some Seahawks rival in the NFC West, or if it’s some Seattle fan upset about the departure of Russell Wilson and the arrival of Drew Lock. Interesting, right?!
Drew Lock to Fight With Geno Smith for the Title
While there was much talk that the Seahawks could be on the trail of Baker Mayfield, at the moment Drew Lock and Geno Smith are the names that will compete for the starting quarterback job next season.
Lock has three seasons of NFL experience, with the 2020 season being the most successful for him, when he made 13 starts for the Broncos. After 24 total games played (21 as a starter), the 25-year-old quarterback is 8-13 with 4,740 yards through the air, 25 touchdowns, 20 interceptions and a 59.3% pass completion percentage.
