Kansas quarterback had an efficient outing versus the Cougars, going 14/19 for 130 passing yards and three touchdowns with zero interceptions.
The Jayhawks also were also effective again in moving the chains on the ground, as they racked up 221 rushing yards. On the season, Kansas is averaging 209.0 rushing yards per contest – the 16th-best nationally. Kansas has the air of a team that always succeeds under pressure, as evidenced by the fact that it is No. 1 in the nation with a 62.5 percent third-down conversion rate.

Like the Jayhawks, Quinn Ewers and the Longhorns are off to a blazing start to the season. Texas is now 4-0 in the 2023 campaign after defeating the Baylor Bears in Waco over the weekend, 38-6. Ewers went 18/23 for 293 passing yards and a touchdown with zero interceptions in that game, while Jonathon Brooks went off for 106 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries.
Texas’ attack has been consistently making things happen and should have enough tools to keep in step with Kansas’ high-octane offense. That could be made easier by Texas’ defense which has the potential to cripple the Jayhawks’ offense. Texas is allowing just 12.5 points per game and recording 1.8 takeaways per game. At the same time, Texas doesn’t turn the ball over often, only averaging 0.8 giveaways per contest.
