Predictions, Odds and Betting Preview for 2022 NFL Week 9 Games
Philadelphia Eagles (-740) vs Houston Texans (+540) / Thursday, November 03 / 8:15 PM E.T.
- Eagles Spread: -13
- Texans Spread: +13
- Over/Under: 44
The Philadelphia Eagles come into Thursday Night Football as the only undefeated team in the league and will put that status to the test against the Houston Texans, who, although they’ll be playing at home, have the worst record in the American Conference, at just 1-5-1.
The Texans have lost their last two games, being outscored by seven or more points both times, and surely the home status will weigh little when hosting the best team in the NFL.
Philadelphia ranks among the best teams in both offense (average of 28.0 points scored) and defense (average of 16.9 points allowed), and we believe it’ll have no problem beating a Houston team that has one of the worst offenses at this point of the season.
Prediction: Philadelphia Eagles Spread.

Minnesota Vikings (-175) vs Washington Commanders (+150) / Sunday, November 06 / 2:00 PM E.T.
- Vikings Spread: -3.5
- Commanders Spread: +3.5
- Over/Under: 43.5
The Minnesota Vikings come into this week of NFL action comfortably leading the NFC North with a 6-1-0 record, and will pay a visit to the Commanders, who are last in the East division despite an even record to date.
Remarkably, three of those four wins came by Washington in the last three weeks, including one over Green Bay 23-21, so they should not be underestimated by Minnesota.
However, the Vikings are in an excellent offensive stretch, averaging 28.6 points in their last five games. Although the home team is on a roll, this will be the toughest game they have faced in several weeks.
Prediction: Minnesota Vikings Spread.

Carolina Panthers (+270) vs Cincinnati Bengals (-325) / Sunday, November 06 / 2:00 PM E.T.
- Panthers Spread: +7.5
- Bengals Spread: -7.5
- Over/Under: 42.5
Few had Carolina in their sights for this season, and the team has done little to change that opinion, having the second-worst record in the National Conference (2-6-0). Moreover, the departure of Christian McCaffrey, added to the injury to their quarterbacks, hasn’t helped. This time they will pay a visit to the Cincinnati Bengals, who were humiliated on Monday Night Football when they lost 32-13 to the Cleveland Browns, which leaves them in second place in their division.
Despite this, the Bengals could have a chance to bounce back playing at home, where they have a 2-1-0 record. They won their last two home games by more than ten points over the Dolphins and Falcons; meanwhile, the Panthers haven’t won any away game yet.
Prediction: Cincinnati Bengals Spread

Buffalo Bills (-625) vs New York Jets (+470) / Sunday, November 06 / 2:00 PM E.T.
- Bills Spread: -13
- Jets Spread: +13
- Over/Under: 47.5
The Buffalo Bills are asserting their tag as the leading candidate to win the Super Bowl this season, as they currently have the best record in the American Conference (6-1-0), and will face the New York Jets, who surprisingly are the ones who are trailing them (5-3-0).
During October, the Bills faced several tests against great teams and passed them all, beating the Ravens, Steelers, Chiefs and Packers, scoring an average of 28 points per game in the process. For their part, the Jets are coming off a 22-17 loss to New England in their last game, which snapped a four-game winning streak.
This will be the third matchup in which the Bills start as double-digit favorites, and their record in games of this nature is 1-1. At JefeBet, we believe the Jets could avoid a blowout loss thanks to their defense, which allowed an average of 15.6 points during their October clashes.
Prediction: New York Jets Spread

Indianapolis Colts (+200) vs New England Patriots (-240) / Sunday, November 06 / 2:00 PM E.T.
- Colts Spread: +5.5
- Patriots Spread: -5.5
- Over/Under: 39.5
The Colts come into Week 9 in second place in the AFC South with a 3-4-1 record after losing their last two games, the last one being a 17-16 shutout loss to the Washington Commanders. On the other hand, the Patriots enjoyed a thriving October, winning three of their five games, including the last one by 22-17 against the Jets.
While Indianapolis typically runs for a lot of yards per game (329.9 average), they fail to convert this into points, with their 20.0 average being the third lowest in the league. Their defense, though, has done a good job of allowing 20 or more points in only three of their games to date, and with New England also being a long possession team, this could be a low-scoring matchup.
Prediction: Under.

Las Vegas Raiders (-125) vs Jacksonville Jaguars (+105) / Sunday, November 06 / 2:00 PM E.T.
- Raiders Spread: -1.5
- Jaguars Spread: +1.5
- Over/Under: 47.5
Las Vegas and Jacksonville are going through a difficult season and both have a negative record, with 2-5-0 and 2-6-0 respectively. The Raiders were humiliated in their last outing, losing 24-0 to the Saints, but life has been tougher for the Jaguars, who have lost five straight games before the start of this week.
The Raiders’ defense has left much to be desired this season, averaging 24.9 points allowed, and the Jaguars may not be getting results, but their offense has been solid: they’ve scored at least 17 points in each of their last three games, leading us to believe that this battle will be packed with emotions.

Miami Dolphins (-205) vs Chicago Bears (+175) / Sunday, November 06 / 2:00 PM E.T.
- Dolphins Spread: -4.5
- Bears Spread: +4.5
- Over/Under: 44
Tua Tagovailoa’s recovery has come in handy for the Dolphins, who haven’t lost since the quarterback rejoined the team in Week 7 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Now, Miami will be looking to improve its 5-3-0 record against the Chicago Bears, who are coming off a 49-29 loss to the Cowboys, their fourth loss in five games over the past month.
Despite that thrashing, the Bears boast the NFL’s fifth-best air defense, allowing an average of 188.0 passing yards, which could present a problem for a Dolphins team that is not likely to play on the ground this season, averaging 88.1 rushing yards. However, Miami has a more complete team than its rival, so it would not be a surprise to see them take the victory.
Prediction: Miami Dolphins Spread

Green Bay Packers (-170) vs Detroit Lions (+145) / Sunday, November 06 / 2:00 PM E.T.
- Packers Spread: -3
- Lions Spread: +3
- Over/Under: 50
Under normal conditions, we would say that this game is a sure win for the Packers, but this has been far from a normal season for the Green Bay team, which comes into this game on a streak of four consecutive losses. In this way, a game against the worst team in their division is far from a sure win.
What seems certain is that it will be a high scoring matchup. Although the Lions have a record of 1-6-0, their performances have been really entertaining, and all their clashes at Ford Field have had at least 50 points, something that we do not believe will be the exception in this matchup, because although Green Bay has not looked good on offense, they will surely be able to take advantage of what so far is the worst defense in the league.

Los Angeles Chargers (-165) vs Atlanta Falcons (+140) / Sunday, November 06 / 2:00 PM E.T.
- Chargers Spread: -3
- Falcons Spread: +3
- Over/Under: 49.5
The Chargers have been extremely inconsistent this season, and they will be hoping that their Week 8 bye served as a chance to rethink some things, especially after losing 37-23 to the Seahawks in their previous game which ended a three-game winning streak. In this game, they will face the surprising Falcons, who currently lead the NFC South with a 4-4-0 record and will want to keep flying high.
This is sure to be another high-scoring clash, as both teams are each other’s counterparts: the Chargers have an excellent passing offense, and regarding defense, they have a hard time against the rushing game; meanwhile, the Falcons have proven to be one of the forces to be feared when they carry, but their defensive secondary is a total mess.

Seattle Seahawks (+110) vs Arizona Cardinals (-130) / Sunday, November 06 / 5:05 PM E.T.
- Seahawks Spread: +1.5
- Cardinals Spread: -1.5
- Over/Under: 50
Against all odds, the Seattle Seahawks are leading their division with a 5-3-0 record, although they will have to keep winning to stay in that position as the NFC West is extremely close. This matchup against the bottom-ranked Arizona Cardinals (3-5-0) will serve that purpose.
Seattle won four of its five games in October, including one against Arizona (19-9), and heads into this week as the fourth-highest scoring team on average with 26.1 points. Still, its defense has not looked great, allowing the fourth-most total yards on average (415.6) and also the fourth-most points (26.6).
The latter is something the Cardinals, who scored 26 or more points in their last two games, but barely won one of them, will be able to capitalize on. In fact, Arizona’s defense is a step below Seattle’s in terms of average points allowed per game (26.3), which encourages us to think about an over.

Los Angeles Rams (+125) vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-145) / Sunday, November 6 / 5:25 PM E.T.
- Rams Spread: +3
- Buccaneers Spread: -3
- Over/Under: 42.5
What was supposed to be a great matchup in NFL Week 9 will be a showdown between two great teams desperate to turn around what has been a terrible season. The Rams are third in their division with a 3-4-0 record, and the outstanding defense that helped win last season’s championship appears to be faltering after a 31-14 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in their last game.
For their part, the Buccaneers are in the middle of an outcome crisis after being defeated in their last three games. Two of these losses came against lower ranked teams such as the Panthers (21-3) and Steelers (20-18), in addition to their loss in their last game against the Ravens (27-22).
While scoring points has been a problem for both sides, the defense has stepped up (overall in the tournament). Los Angeles is the team that allows the third-fewest total yards on average (315.3), while Tampa Bay has the seventh-best passing defense (194.0 yards allowed on average) and only allows an average of 18.9 points per game. Taking all of this into account, this very even matchup could result in a low-scoring game.

Tennessee Titans (+470) vs Kansas City Chiefs (-625) / Sunday, November 6 / 9:20 PM E.T.
- Titans Spread: +12.5
- Chiefs Spread: -12.5
- Over/Under: 46.5
This week’s Sunday Night Football will feature the Titans and Chiefs, two teams that are currently leading their respective divisions with a 5-2-0 record. After a disappointing first two games, Tennessee managed to bounce back and come into this matchup with five consecutive wins. Meanwhile, Kansas City will be well rested after their Week 8 bye, certain that they can beat a great team again just like they did in Week 7 against the 49ers (44-23).
The Titans defense stepped up during October, allowing an average of just 13.5 points per game, and will be tested by the Patrick Mahomes-led offense, which scored an average of 33.2 points during the same month.
With the possible absence of Tennessee’s starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill, the team must continue to rely on their rushing game, something that the Chiefs can counter since they are the third-best defense in the league against the run. With a healthy roster that has all its stars, the home team will surely win by a wide margin.
Prediction: Kansas City Chiefs Spread

Baltimore Ravens (-150) vs New Orleans Saints (+130) / Monday, November 7 / 9:15 PM E.T.
- Ravens Spread: -2.5
- Saints Spread: +2.5
- Over/Under: 48
NFL Week 9 will end with the Monday Night Football matchup between the Ravens and Saints, who come into this game with contrasting records (5-3-0 and 3-5-0, respectively). Baltimore won its last two games, which were very important, since they defeated a divisional rival like the Browns (23-20) and a Super Bowl contender like the Buccaneers (27-22), so they will definitely be inspired for this game.
On the other hand, the Saints managed to turn things around, recording losses in both Week 6 and Week 7. Their defense looked very bad in both games, allowing 30 points against the Bengals (30-26) and 42 against the Cardinals (42-34), but they managed to be the executioner in Week 8 by beating the Raiders (24-0).
That last win against Las Vegas snapped a New Orleans streak of four straight games that had more than 50 points, and with the Ravens scoring 20 or more points in all but one of their games so far in the regular season, we think the trend could pick up again in this matchup.
