Betting on the San Francisco 49ers
After beating the Rams 24-9 in Week 4, it looked like the San Francisco 49ers were on their way to taking the division lead. However, having lost in their last two games, with one of them being a surprising 28-14 loss to the Falcons while the other an understandable drop by 44-23 against the Chiefs, have left San Francisco having to row against the tide again to get that coveted first place.
What was once one of the league’s greatest defenses has become completely unrecognizable in recent weeks, allowing 529 total yards in their most recent game against Kansas City. Limiting his opponents’ damage will have to be a priority if their average of 20.7 points scored per game doesn’t improve in the coming weeks.
Betting on the Los Angeles Rams
The defending NFL champions have had an up-and-down season, and now they’ll be hoping that their Week 7 bye has helped them reconsider a lot of things heading into the rest of the season. They must have taken all the positive aspects from their 24-10 Week 6 win over the Carolina Panthers to reflect on ahead of the big game, especially after losing the first meeting between the two organizations this season.
While on defense they allow the third-fewest total average yards (315.3), the Rams’ problem lies on offense, with their average of 17.3 points scored per game this season being the fourth worst in the league.Even their quarterback Matthew Stafford has had more passes intercepted than he has thrown for touchdowns so far (8 and 6, respectively), thanks in part to the poor coverage provided by their offensive line so far.
JefeBet Prediction
The first meeting between the two sides this season was a low-scoring game, and little has changed since then, so it would be no surprise if this current match follows the same trend.
This season, the Rams have scored ten or fewer points in three of their seven games. Additionally, in their previous game against the 49ers, their quarterback, Matthew Stafford, was intercepted seven times, and if this continues, their offense would be rendered ineffective once more.
San Francisco already knows how to halt the Los Angeles game, but will it be able to pose a threat to the Rams? The Rams also have a good defense, andthe 49ers’ offense is not exactly the most explosive in the league; the arrival of a top-notch running back like Christian McCaffrey, though, will certainly provide an additional weapon compared to the previous meeting between the two teams.
Even so, surpassing 43 points seems a complicated task. In fact, only one of the Rams’ games this season had more than that amount.
Prediction: Under (SF 20 – LAR 16)
