Betting on the Cleveland Browns (+2.5)
Regular season record: 7-3
The Browns just find ways to win. With Deshaun Watson done for the remainder of the 2023 NFL regular season, the Browns still managed to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers last Sunday at home, 13-10.
It was not the sexiest of victories, but at the end of the day, the Browns got the job done with rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson running the offense. DTR is expected to start again in Week 12 versus Denver despite the Browns signing veteran Joe Flacco to a contract, but it’s really Cleveland’s defense that will be the biggest key to success for the team. On the season, the Browns are allowing only 18.0 points per game and are No. 1 in the league with a defensive sack rate of 11.11 percent.
Betting on the Denver Broncos (-2.5)
Regular season record: 5-5
The Broncos are a different team now. They are much improved, to say it plainly. After starting the season with a 1-5 record through six games, the Broncos have 14-0 straight up. Over that span, they have defeated the Green Bay Packers (19-17), Kansas City Chiefs (24-9), Buffalo Bills (24-22), and the latest in Week 11, the Minnesota Vikings (21-20).
Denver’s defense has stepped up of late that even the high-powered offenses of the Bills and the Chiefs failed to overcome. Given the absence of Watson on top of Nick Chubb’s injury, the Browns are a much lesser threat for Denver’s stop unit which has allowed only 17.0 points in the team’s last three outings.
El Jefe’s Prediction on Cleveland Browns vs Denver Broncos
Apart from their improving defense, the Broncos are also feeding off the resurgence of Russell Wilson. Taking the Broncos to win against the Browns.
Prediction:
The Broncos win, 17-14.
