Betting on the Cleveland Browns
With little chance of making the postseason, the Browns will have a few games to test their offense with Deshaun Watson leading the way.
They need to accomplish this since, while rather solid, the Cleveland squad has been strongest when running the ball, ranking second in TDs scored with 18 and sixth in average yards per rush with 4.9.
The Browns’ main problem comes on the defensive side of the ball, as they are the fifth team with the most points allowed with 286. One of the reasons for that is that they have only forced eight turnovers, the second fewest in the circuit, and in the red zone they have allowed touchdowns on more than half of their opponents’ visits.
Betting on the Houston Texans
It seems a given that at the end of the season, the Texans will be the team with the worst record in the league and who will have the first overall pick in the NFL Draft.
With 174 points, Houston is the worst offensive team in the league next to the Denver Broncos in terms of fewest points scored. They have the fewest total yards (3,069) in the league and the fewest interceptions (13), more than any other team.
The defense hasn’t been of much value either, and the 4,235 total yards conceded to their opponents is the sixth-highest mark in the circuit. They allow an average of 5.7 yards per play, and the 15 TDs on the ground allowed are the fourth highest among defenses.
JefeBet Prediction
The Browns enter the game with confidence after a decisive victory over the Buccaneers and the debut of Deshaun Watson, but the Texans would be better off continuing their losing ways in order to finish with the worst record in the division, which is something that shouldn’t be unexpected.
Even though Cleveland has an 0-7 record playing against the spread against Houston, the Browns offense will have a very good day against a team that is weak in every way.
Prediction: Browns spread (CLE 27 – HOU 20).
