Betting on the Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers have not had the best of seasons, but have managed to make an outstanding rebound by winning three of its last four matches. The team’s run has taken them to second place in the AFC West, and although they have almost no chance of staying at the top of their division, they can still fight seriously for one of the Wild Card spots.
The most recent of those victories came in Week 15, in a hard-fought matchup against the Tennessee Titans. In this game, the Chargers made the difference with a field goal scored by Cameron Dicker just seconds before the end of the game.
Despite that result, the Chargers have been a decent team offensively with an average of 22.3 points scored per game, but also pretty weak defensively, allowing an average of 24.3 points per game.
Betting on the Indianapolis Colts
For their part, the Colts continue to be in the middle of a poor campaign, and they’ve dropped to second-to-last place in the AFC South after losing each of their last four games. Their defense was simply terrible, allowing an average of 33.5 points scored per game; meanwhile, on offense they managed to get over the 20-point line only once during that stretch.
That happened precisely in their previous game, where, although scoring 36 points against the Minnesota Vikings, they ended up falling by a score of 36-39 in overtime, all that after seeing their defense allow 36 points during the second half, 22 of which came in the last quarter.
This season, the Colts have not been able to stand out in any aspect of the field, being a weak team on offense with an average of 17.5 points scored per game and counting on a defense that is too vulnerable, which has averaged 24.1 points allowed per game.
JefeBet Prediction
The Colts’ great offensive shortcomings were evident in their previous game, and they will surely not have a good time in this game against a Chargers team that usually plays very well on offense. Besides, being a home team hasn’t helped them either, since they have a 2-4 record at home.
The Chargers have a history of poor defense, but they have recently improved and demonstrated in their previous game that they are capable of doing things well when they put their minds to it.
Moreover, they have dominated this particular series and have had no problems playing in this stadium, so, considering that and what both teams are going through, we expect the Los Angeles team to step up and take the win here.
Prediction: Los Angeles Chargers Spread (LAC 27 – IND 20).
