The Chiefs must turn the page quickly if they are to avenge last weekend’s home loss to the Bills in a few months.
Two of the Super Bowl favorites put on a amazing game, which Buffalo’s excellent defense was able to overcome by stopping Patrick Mahomes at critical moments. The quarterback threw for 338 yards with two touchdowns, but also recorded his first game of the year with two interceptions. Kansas City remains the team with the most points scored in 2022 with 179 total points.
Defensively, the Chiefs did not fare as poorly, or at least not as well as expected against Buffalo’s offense. Despite allowing more than 400 total yards for the second time, they conceded only 24 points to an offense that is second in scoring this season. They have gradually improved in their performance, although they continue to have problems in the red zone by allowing 15 TDs on 20 occasions for 75%, the third-highest figure.
Betting on the San Francisco 49ers
- Season record: 3-3.
- BetMGM Spread: +3.0.
- Moneyline: (+140).
- Over/Under: 48.5
Poor results on the road continue to haunt the 49ers, who despite having a great defense, were unable to beat the Falcons.
San Francisco got into trouble because of three turnovers in Atlanta. Two of those came at the hands of Jimmy Garoppolo, who for the first time this season threw a pair of interceptions, while the other came on a fumble by Jeff Wilson Jr. which was recovered by the Falcons and ended up in the end zone. The 49ers also rushed for just 50 yards, their lowest total this season.
As for their defense, it got the job done by allowing less than 300 yards for the fifth time. Thanks to them, the 49ers remain the team with the lowest average yards allowed per play and yards per carry with 4.3 and 3.3, respectively. Additionally, the 1,535 yards they’ve allowed to opponents are the fewest in the league and the 89 points allowed is the second fewest.
JefeBet Prediction
The Chiefs’ offense is one of the best in the league, but on Sunday we witnessed first hand that a good defense is capable of giving Patrick Mahomes and company a good game. And, yeah, the 49ers’ defense is on par with the Bills’.
Meanwhile, San Francisco’s offense has been inconsistent all season and Kansas City’s defense has improved over the weeks. We should expect a great football game, and one that will be just as close as Sunday’s game between the Chiefs and Bills.
Prediction: Under (KC 24 – SF 20).
