With that victory, the team from the capital city erased the memory of its 20-17 defeat by the Minnesota Vikings a week earlier and increased its winning streak to five games out of 10 played.
The Commanders are in last place in the NFC East, but if they continue to collect wins over the next few weeks, they could take a spot in the postseason. They have focused on correcting some things defensively and so far that is paying off.

This relegated them to the last place in the American Conference standings and also to the bottom of the AFC South.
They have four straight losses prior to this matchup, 38-20 to the Las Vegas Raiders, 17-10 to the Tennessee Titans, 29-17 to the Philadelphia Eagles and 24-16 to the New York Giants. At this point, it appears that the Texas franchise will be looking to be the worst team to secure the first draft pick in the upcoming tournament.
