The Falcons lost the NFC South lead late in the game when they dropped a ball they had recovered on the same play on a Chargers fumble.
After Austin Ekeler fumbled the ball loose with 43 seconds on the play clock, defensive back Ta’Quon Graham ran with it before also adding a fumble that was recovered by guard Matt Fieler on the Falcons’ 43-yard line. That allowed Los Angeles to get better field position and connect on a 37-yard game-winning field goal.
In this way, Atlanta wasted one of the best defensive games of the season, and now, for the second time in three weeks, they will have to face a Panthers team that is unable to wake up. However, in Week 8, at home, the Falcons had to battle until overtime to beat their rivals 34-31.

Walker, who threw two interceptions in just ten attempts. With Mayfield coming in, Carolina’s offense looked a little better, but the damage on the scoreboard was already done with a defense that conceded more than 400 yards two weeks ago against the Falcons.
