The Jets vs Dolphins will square off in another divisional matchup next Sunday, during the last week of the NFL regular season.
New York was eliminated last week after its fifth loss in a row after losing 6-23 to the Seahawks, while Miami lost the AFC’s third wild card by being outshot 21-23 by the Patriots. It is worth remembering that in the first clash of the campaign between the two teams, the Jets won 17-40.

Betting on the New York Jets
After a promising start, the Jets’ skid of seasons without making the playoffs has now reached 12 because of five straight defeats and seven in their last nine games.
The team’s main weakness was the offense, which is why head coach Robert Saleh had to use up to four different quarterbacks in an attempt to find a solution to the problem. However, there were no positive responses: an example of this is that the Jets are the sixth lowest scoring team in the tournament with 290 points, while the QBs threw 15 touchdown passes and 14 interceptions.
On the defensive side things were much better, but the effort could not be rewarded. In the last 13 games, New York allowed more than 20 points only three times, and the 4.8 yards allowed per play is the lowest average in the circuit along with the Eagles’. Regarding passes, they are second in fewest total yards conceded (3,080) and touchdowns (15), while the 44 sacks of opposing quarterbacks are the seventh-highest in the league.
Betting on the Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins got themselves into big trouble and may not be able to get out of it, even with a win.
For Miami to be eligible for the third AFC wild card, the Patriots must lose, and Miami must win. They will need to achieve this after losing five straight games and without their two starting quarterbacks, Teddy Bridgewater (right hand injury) and Tua Tagovailoa (concussion protocol).
After four straight games scoring at least 30 points, the Dolphins have failed to score more than 21 points in four of the last five games, and against the Jets’ defense it looks extremely difficult for them to do so. Freshman Skylar Thompson will be the man in charge of leading the offense that is second in yards gained per play with a 6.2 average and fourth in passing touchdowns with 30.
Without that production, it’ll be hard for Miami to win, especially with the sixth-highest number of points conceded in the league (393). Regarding the defense against the pass, the Dolphins have a lot of problems as they are sixth in total yards allowed, third in touchdown passes conceded with 27 and have only eight interceptions. In terms of their defense inside the red zone, opponents score on 61.4% of their trips, which is the seventh-highest figure.
JefeBet Prediction
Both teams are going through very difficult offensive moments and this Sunday does not seem to be the right game for that to change.
The Dolphins, who must play their best game of the season, will host the Jets, who must seek for an offensive awakening on the road. Miami, on the other hand, will rely on rookie Thompson against one of the league’s best defenses.
Prediction: Under (NY 13 – MIA 17).
