Betting on the Carolina Panthers
With five games left to play, the Panthers can still dream of the postseason, being only two games behind the Buccaneers in the NFC South, a team they already beat this year and against whom they have one game left.
To keep those hopes alive, they must get a win on the road this Sunday against one of the league’s best offenses. This makes it crucial that they continue their strong defensive play from the previous three games, a span during which opponents have not scored more than 15 points. The Panthers’ strength is their defense against the pass, precisely where the Seahawks deploy most of their offense.
Carolina’s biggest problem is on the offensive end. This is one of the worst in the league and this Monday they just released QB Baker Mayfield. Seattle’s defense is not among the most dependable, so this would be a good opportunity for the team to leave the bottom of the category of first downs earned, where they currently stand with 179. Moreover, their QBs total the same amount of TDs as interceptions with 10 in each category and have only scored on 51.7% of their red zone visits.

The Seahawks have been one of the pleasant surprises of this season and with their win against the Rams they returned to the postseason as the third wild card in the National Conference.
Russell Wilson has been long forgotten as the focal point of Seattle’s offense, which is now one of the best in the league, led by Geno Smith. At home, they have a good opportunity to keep on winning and continue climbing in the points scored category, where they are fifth with 318. They also rank fourth in average yards per play (6.0), sixth in passing touchdowns (22), and add another 12 rushing touchdowns.
The big problem with this team is that its defense is one of the weakest in the entire circuit. They have been a complete disaster on the ground, giving up 1,863 total yards and 16 touchdowns, which is the fourth-highest total in both categories. Moreover, they are eighth in average yards per play (5.7), sixth in points received (304). It should be noted, however, that they are the second defense with the most fumbles recovered, with a total of 20.
