We are one week away from reaching the midway point of this 2022 NFL season and the Pittsburgh Steelers, as expected, are at the bottom of the AFC North with a 2-5 record. They aren’t anticipated to move up the standings, let alone in Week 8 against the league’s only undefeated team, the Philadelphia Eagles.

After pulling off the upset in Week 6 by beating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 20-18, Pittsburgh lost again in their last game, which saw them put in a decent performance after falling just 16-10 to the Miami Dolphins.

Will the Steelers be able to come out of their next game somewhat unscathed? Will they surrender the victory yet again? Stay tuned to JefeBet to find out what the sportsbooks are saying, as well as a look back at their futures bets compared to the ones from the previous week.

Predictions, Betting Preview and Dallas Cowboys Odds in Week 8 of the 2022 NFL Season

Moneyline (+375 from BetMGM)

Let the heavy odds on the Pittsburgh Steelers in their next game serve as a guide – the team’s chances of winning are incredibly small.

Not only are they at a disadvantage based on their performance throughout the seasob, but they will also have to play on the road: they haven’t won an away game since Week 1 after forcing an overtime against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Spread (+10.5 from BetMGM)

This will be the third time this season that the Pittsburgh Steelers will start a game with a double-digit spread against them. If you plan on betting on this one, then you’ll be happy to know that their record in these situations is 1-1.

Despite the fact that Pittsburgh has covered the spread in its last two games, achieving this accomplishment in a third game in a row appears unlikely given the opponent, even though the Steelers have won the last three encounters between the two franchises.

Over/Under(43 from BetMGM)

This matchup’s point total is slightly below average, and there are several reasons for this.

The Steelers’ offense averages the second-fewest total yards per game at just 311.9, and their points-per-game average of 15.3 is the second worst in the league. Moreover, their starting quarterback, Kenny Pickett, has had three times as many passes intercepted (7) as he has thrown for a touchdown (2).

Considering this, it seems unlikely that Pittsburgh can score many points against an Eagles team that averages just 17.5 points allowed per game; in fact, it has allowed exactly 17 in its last two games. However, don’t forget that the Steelers also allowed fewer than 20 points in their last two games against two great offenses.

Pittsburgh Steelers Futures Bets and Odds after Week 7

Over/Under wins in the season: Over 5.5 (+110 by DraftKings) / Under 5.5 (-130 by DraftKings)

The win total for the Steelers this season remains at 5.5 after Week 7, although the odds did adjust slightly, with the over paying slightly more while the under saw its odds decrease.

This matchup looks like a sure loss for Pittsburgh barring a major upset. Moving on, they’ll have a bye in the next week before rejoining the competition in Week 10 against the Saints. Heading into December, they’ll take on the Bengals and Colts, and may pull out a win, or two being optimistic, between now and then.

AFC North Champions (+4000 from BetMGM)

The Pittsburgh Steelers’ betting odds to win their division continue to increase week by week, with this one going from +3300 to +4000.

The top of the AFC North is already three games away, and the Ravens and Bengals appear to be vying for the title, while the Browns and Steelers will compete for the top spot; the former, though, appears to be a better suited team, thus Pittsburgh could finish last.

AFC Champions (+40000 from BetMGM)

These particular odds increased strangely from one week to the next, from +12500 to +40000, and understandably so. To begin with, to be AFC champion, you must either win a division or get a wildcard ticket, both of which the Steelers appear incapable of getting; this makes them the second least likely club to win the AFC, trailing only the Houston Texans.

Steelers win Super Bowl (+75000 from BetMGM)

Another astronomical spike in odds is this one, which rose from +25000 to +75000. Within the NFL, only the Texans are less likely to win the championship than the Steelers.

If this is anything to go by, their fans will still have to wait for their first Super Bowl since 2008, although with a team so young and still in need of development, this drought could go on for many more years.
