After beginning their title defense with a 31-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills, the Rams have been able to recover and have been gradually picking up the pacewith their dull 31-27 win over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 2 being followed by a fairly convincing 20-12 win over a divisional rival, the Arizona Cardinals in Week 3..
That game against the Cardinals saw Los Angeles win despite not being much superior, efficiently executing its offensive series and finally demonstrating outstanding defense: they collected just 15 first downs while its opponent gained 23 total, in addition to having less possession than its adversary (26.04). Keeping up that level of defense will be key when facing a top team again.
Betting on the San Francisco 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers have had an up-and-down start to this regular season.The team has alternated between wins and losses since the start of the season, with its latest result being a surprising 11-10 loss in Week 3’s Sunday Night Football in a game in which the team’s offense looked rather spiritless.
Led by Jimmy Garappolo, the offense had just 13 first down opportunities in the entire game while its efficiency on third down was only of 10%. (1 of 10 opportunities). Furthermore, they managed to cover only 267 yards, combined with the fact that they had three fumbles and lost possession in two of them.Considering this, there are definitely several aspects to improve for this game.

While these are two excellent teams, this game appears to be one in which the two defenses will be crucial.
The 49ers’ offense has been among the worst at the moment, averaging the fifth-fewest points per game (15.7) and relying heavily on the ground game (151 yards per game average), and as we all know, moving the ball on the ground usually consumes much more time on the clock.
However, San Francisco’s defense has shined, starting this Week 4 as the second best in average total yards allowed (246.0), the best in average yards through the air allowed (148.3) and third overall in average points allowed (12.3).
Not to be overlooked, the 49ers’ three games so far have been against bad offenses like the Bears, Seahawks and Broncos, but the Rams have also been inconsistent on offense this regular season. This was evident in their last game against the Cardinals, which makes us think that this game will have less than the total points assigned by the bookmakers.
