Betting on the New Orleans Saints

  • Season record: 3-6
  • BetMGM Spread: -1.5
  • BetMGM Moneyline: -125
  • Over/Under: 40.5

New Orleans failed to maintain its pace after a 24-0 win over the Raiders in Week 8: they fell to defeat in its latest outing, losing 27-13 to the Baltimore Ravens. They will have to play on the road again after two home games, a situation in which they haven’t won since Week 1.

The previous Saints game against Baltimore saw them total only 243 yards and have only 22:13 minutes of possession; however, all of their games on opponent ground this regular season have seen them record at least 300 total yards.

Betting on the Pittsburgh Steelers

  • Season record: 2-6
  • Unibet Spread: +1.5
  • Unibet Moneyline: +102
  • Over/Under: 40

Pittsburgh enters this game having lost its last two games in a difficult month of October in which they faced the Jets, Bills, Buccaneers, Dolphins and the Eagles. In this way, they’ll certainly be hoping that the Week 9 bye has helped them to save energy for this matchup, which will pit them against a much easier opponent than the previous ones.

However, facing an opponent of their level may not be enough if the Steelers can’t improve their performance, primarily on offense, with their average of 15.0 points scored per game being the second worst in the NFL heading into this week.

The sportsbooks are right in categorizing this as a fairly even match in which anything could happen, although the visiting team is perceived as slightly superior.

What seems certain is that this will be a low scoring game. Despite being poor on offense, the Steelers have made their presence known on defense: only one of the three opponents that visited Acrisure Stadium this season managed to score more than 20 points.

The Saints have scored 24 or more points in five of their last six games; however, the majority of those points were scored against bad defenses, and we may see a version of New Orleans similar to what we saw last week against the Ravens, as Pittsburgh will try to make the most of its defense to stop its rival and win the game.

Prediction: Under (NO 20 – PIT 16)
