Betting on the Houston Texans
While the Houston Texans won all three of their preseason games, everyone predicted them to be one of the worst teams in the NFL this season, and they weren’t wrong. The Texan franchise enters Week 5 as the only team in the entire league that has failed to win a single game.Thus, they are coming into this match with a streak of three consecutive defeats.
The last of these falls was 34-24 to the Chargers;in this game, the Texans went into halftime trailing 27-7 in a game in which their defense was inefficient, allowing their opponents 419 total yards – the the second time they have allowed than 400 yards in the season.The first time was a 20-20 tie against the Indianapolis Colts, a divisional rival like their next opponent.
Betting on the Jacksonville Jaguars
Despite a 2-2 record, the Jacksonville Jaguars are the surprise leaders in the AFC South. This is so because their divisional opponents have underperformed this regular season. While their current pace may not be sustainable, finishing the season with a slightly positive record would be encouraging to the franchise’s entire core of young players.
A 21-29 defeat in Week 4 was something the Jaguars could have predicted, as they faced the Philadelphia Eagles, who came into the game undefeated. Yet, the Jaguars still looked good by putting up a fight against a great opponent and being able to score three touchdowns despite being outgained in possession (20:09) and having only 219 total yards.

Week 4 provided us with the opportunity to determine something: the Jacksonville Jaguars offense is serious business. While their numbers weren’t all good, the team managed to score 21 points, and has now managed to surpass the 20-point mark in each of their games to date.
Although the Texans managed to score 24 points in their last game, this was due more to the calmness with which the Chargers approached the second half of the game because of their large lead.The Jaguars are now the fourth lowest scoring club in the NFL in terms of average points allowed (16.8), thus it seems unlikely that their offense would perform similarly.
With Houston scoring less than 20 points and Jacksonville expected to narrowly beat that mark, betting on the under doesn’t look like a bad option.
