- The only Latin American to win it was Roberto de Vicenzo in 1966 and on that occasion he took home US$15,000 of the US$85,000 distributed.
- Tom Watson was a three-time champion in 1978, 79 and 80 and is the only one to have achieved such a milestone. In fact, he is the tournament’s top winner with four titles, having also won it in 1975.
