- It was first held in 1938, and Harry Cooper became the champion and took home 1,200 out of the 5,000 prize pool.
- In 2017, the tournament became a team event. In that edition, the Swedish golfer Thomas Blixt and the Australian golfer Cameron Smith won the title in a Playoff against the American duo of Scott Brown and Kevin Kisner. The prize pool for that year was $7,100,000, with each winner taking home $1,022,400.
