- Rob Bolton of PGATour.com has Sepp Straka on top of his power rankings for the upcoming event at TPC Twin Cities, saying that the Austrian’s “periodic punches of brilliance amid stretches of silence speak to confidence over concern.” Straka, a two-time PGA Tour winner, won the 2023 John Deere Classic before collecting an impressive T2 last week at Royal Liverpool.
- Mike Randleman, meanwhile, has Argentinian Emiliano Grillo as his top-ranked player for the 2023 3M Open. Grillo is coming off a strong showing in the 2023 Open Championship in which he finished with T6 to completely get over his missed cut in the 2023 John Deere Classic. Grillo is also a proven performer at TPC Twin Cities, where he is 2/3 with two top 5s, including a runner-up finish in 2022.
- Over at CBS Sports, it has noted the name of Lucas Glover as among to watch out for. It’s not hard to see why. For one, Glover is on a roll, having cracked the top six in each of his last three starts. In his most recent start, Glover had a fifth place in the 2023 Barbasol Championship.
- Rotoballer ranks Tony Finau as the top golfer for the 2023 3M Open. Finay has been wobbly of late with missed cuts in his last two starts, but those letdown showings do not change the fact that he is the defending champ of this tournament.
