- The John Deere Classic traces its history all the way back to 1971 when it was still known as the Quad Cities Open Invitational. The inaugural version of this tourney concluded with Deane Beman on top. HE cashed in $5,000 of the $25,000 total purse.
- D. A. Weibring and Steve Stricker share the honor of being the winningest players in John Deere Classic history, with each having three titles.
- The tournament purse reached the $1 million mark in 1990, with Joey Sindelar winning the event for a cashout prize of $180,000.
- The first player to win a million dollars at a single John Deere Classic tournament was Bryson DeChambeau back in 2017 when he bested Patrick Rodgers by just a stroke to pocket a scintillating total of $1.08 million.
