The Memorial is one of the most important PGA Tour tournaments, despite not being a Major. It’s a highly anticipated championship among golfers due to the prize money awarded and the history surrounding the event. Moreover, it’s an invitation-only competition, so not just anyone can play.
A total of 20 million dollars will be divided among the competitors, making it one of the highest payouts on the tour, with the winner taking home 3.6 million dollars. Winning this tournament can make your annual earnings skyrocket. However, it won’t be an easy feat, since the world’s best golfers will be in Ohio for this illustrious competition that Jack Nicklaus imagined and created.
Some people say that The Memorial is like the little brother of The Masters, as the original idea behind this tournament was to create an event similar to Augusta, where only the best golfers could compete. The course where it’s played, the Muirfield Village Golf Club, was also designed by Jack Nicklaus, who won this tournament twice.
Only 120 golfers will be competing in the field, and the eligibility criteria are quite high, so we can expect a great week in Dublin, Ohio, where the best golfers will compete for one of the highest prizes on the tour. At JefeBet, we’ll explain everything you need to know about the prize money for this eagerly awaited competition.
