Interesting Facts and Trivia about the 2023 Charles Schwab Challenge
– The first edition in 1946 was won by Ben Hogan, who received a modest prize of $3,000 out of the $15,000 that was awarded.
– The tournament broke the million-dollar prize barrier in 1989 when Ian Baker Finch won $180,000 out of the $1 million that was distributed.
– Since 2019, it has been called the Charles Schwab Challenge, and in its first edition under that name, $7.3 million was awarded as the total prize money. Kevin Na emerged victorious that year, earning $1.314 million in prize money.
