Interesting Facts and Trivia about the 2023 Tour Championship
- The Tour championship traces its roots all the way back to 1987 when it was still known as the Nabisco Championship. The event carried that name until 1990. From 1991 to 2010, it was known as The Tour Championship before becoming Tour Championship in 2011. It still is known as Tour Championship, but the format changed in 2019 when it started to determine the FedEx Cup champion.
- The tournament was first hosted at Oaks Hills Country Club in 1987. Since 2004, though, the location of the event has always been East Lake Golf Club.
- Rory McIlroy was the latest to win the Tour Championship when he won the event by a stroke over Im Sung-jae and Scottie Scheffler in 2022.
- The winner of each edition of the Tour Championship gets rewarded with the Calamity Jane trophy.
