After a couple of intense weeks, it’s time for a unique tournament where golfers can loosen up. The Zurich Classic brings together the world’s best golfers working together to win the tournament —it’s a team event, and that makes it very interesting.

The tournament format is Stroke Play, but with a twist. There are 80 teams of two golfers competing against another pair of professionals, and the winner is the team with the least amount of strokes. This year’s duos are more attractive than ever.

The course design is attractive and spectacular, although it has some of the most challenging Par Threes on the PGA Tour. But once the players adapt, birdies rain down in the last two rounds. It’s played at TPC Louisiana, which is a course designed for precise golfing. An amateur can get lost in the traps, but for the best in the world, it can be much more forgiving. So, get ready to watch this exciting tournament and see which team will come out on top!

The tournament has been around for 85 years, but it wasn’t until 2017 when it became a doubles competition, making it even more exciting. Despite the intense competition, the camaraderie among players makes it a laid-back and spectacular event.

The PGA is entering one of the most entertaining tournaments after the first major of the year. The level of play remains high, and many players use this opportunity to fine-tune their shots before the second major of the year, which is just around the corner. Here at JefeBet, we’ve got the favorites and odds for this event that is sure to be a crowd-pleaser with its unique format. The PGA never stops, and we’ll be here to cover it all.

Favorites

Patrick Cantlay / Xander Shauffele (+600 odds on DraftKings)

The defending champions come into this tournament playing pretty well. Xander finished fourth in the RBC Heritage, and his shot selection in that game was spot on, making him one of the best golfers on the course.

His partner is also in exceptional form, finishing third in the same competition and always shooting under 70 with an almost perfect second round averaging 65. His short game is on point and both are favorites to defend the title. Their undeniable skill level backs them up.

Collin Morikawa / Max Homa (+1000 odds on DraftKings)

At the Masters, Morikawa crushed it, finishing in 10th place with two stellar first rounds, nailing birdies on crucial holes. However, at the RBC Heritage, although he didn’t play poorly, he seemed a bit tired and his shot selection wasn’t the best.

His partner, Max Homa, had an amazing Players tournament, finishing in 6th place. But in the weeks that followed, his performance dipped a bit. He placed 43rd at the Masters and didn’t make the cut at the RBC Heritage. So, if they want to compete, they can’t rely solely on Morikawa, who is currently killing it.

Sleeper Picks

Sahith Teegala / Justin Suh

Both of them have improved a lot, and it seems like their first victory in the PGA Tour is just around the corner. Sahith finished fifth in the RBC Heritage and Justin had a memorable Players finish by ending up in sixth place. They both play well when they are relaxed, so this could be their golden opportunity.

Black Horse Matt Fitzpatrick / Alex Fitzpatrick

The RBC Heritage champion is coming in hot and to add to the excitement, he’ll be playing alongside his brother who’s new to the pro scene. Matt will definitely be carrying the team, and Alex will have to listen up and take notes from his experienced brother. It’s a family affair on the course, and we can’t wait to see what they bring to the table!

JefeBet Prediction

In most of the teams that have been formed, there’s a golfer with good momentum and another one who’s a little less connected. The only duo that’s completely strong is that of defending champions Cantlay and Schauffele. That’s why, at JefeBet, we believe they’ll win the Zurich Classic and defend their title.
