After Tommy Pham and Joc Pederson protagonized an altercation before the beginning of a game in the San Francisco Giants series against the Cincinnati Reds that cost the former a three-game suspension after slapping his colleague, Pederson has shed some more light on what happened regarding the disagreement between the two that led to Pham’s assault.
The Giants’ outfielder told his side of the story in a locker room interview after the incident, and he admitted on camera responsibility for upsetting Tommy Pham after “mocking” his former team, the San Diego Padres, in a Fantasy Football chat group that also includes other baseball players.
Joc Pederson sent a GIF mocking the Padres’ dismal performance in the second half of the season, although the player considered that it would not blow any fuses since he has a good friendship with some team players, but it seems that Tommy Pham did not take it in a good way.
I sent a GIF making fun of the Padres. In the group chat there was also some — there was more than one Padre, there was four or five that, I’m kind of close with a couple of them, It was supposed to be a friendly thing, just making fun of they were playing bad, and just talking back and forth. It was meant to be all fun and games. No hard feelings.
Pederson was very specific in his remarks, even reading verbatim comments made in the Fantasy Football group.
He responded, ‘Joc, I don’t know you well enough to make any jokes like this.’ “It was meant to be all fun and games. No hard feelings. Sorry if you took it that way.’ And then about two weeks later, after like Week 4 or 5, he ended up leaving the league and there’s been no communication since. It is true, I did send a GIF making fun of the Padres, and if I hurt anyone’s feelings I apologize for that.
This was the GIF in question that cost Joc Pederson his slap.
And What did Tommy Pham Say after the Altercation with Joc Pederson?
Tommy Pham referred to Joc Pederson’s comments as “disrespectful shit” and also said that “he’s fucking with my money.”
I’m a big shot in Vegas. I have high stakes in many casinos.
Tommy Pham
Perderson confirmed that there is a lot of money involved, but he did not elaborate.
