Minnesota United reached to make a signing on the last day of the MLS transfer window. MLS . He is a player who arrives from the M League X and plays as a midfielder.

This Thursday, August 4, the MLS secondary transfer window closes and some teams are still looking to acquire the services of players from different leagues around the world. The “Loons” were able to add Mexican midfielder Jonathan González, a player that comes from Querétaro, to their ranks.

According to information provided by well-known journalist Tom Bogert, who provides extensive coverage of all MLS clubs, Jonathan González will join Minnesota United.

The 23-year-old player has played for three Liga MX teams: Monterrey, Necaxa and Querétaro. His best period was with Monterrey and he was even called up by the Mexico national under-20 football team and senior national teams.

Other extra information circulating is that González will arrive on loan for six months with the option to be bought, although the team has yet to make an official announcement.

González was born in Santa Rosa, California, and he is of Mexican descent, so he has both nationalities, and that’s why he would not occupy a place as a foreigner in the Minnesota franchise.

González made his debut with Monterrey in the 2017-18 season and in a short time he became one of the team’s promising players. He was with the Monterrey team for four seasons and then moved to Rayos del Necaxa.

He spent the first six months of the 2021-22 season with the Necaxa team but he only saw action in six games. In the second half of the year, he became a Querétaro player, but he did not play many minutes, as he only wore this jersey in four games.

In five seasons as a professional soccer player, Jonathan González has played 93 games and has only one goal to his name.

His last appearance on the field with the Querétaro team was on March 6 of this year in the match against Atlas, that is, he has not played for five months.

His arrival in MLS could be positive for his career if he can earn a place in the team to get minutes. This could help him recover the level that led him to be considered for the Mexican National Team.
