Jozy Altidore is the third all-time leading scorer for the U.S. National Team and could soon be seeing action in Mexican soccer, as according to rumors he will leave the New England Revolution in the next few days.
The U.S. striker has forged an extensive career between the MLS and European soccer, and now he could be playing in Aztec soccer. He became a free agent this year and moved from Toronto FC to New England Revolution, but after playing 17 games with his new team, he has only been able to score one goal.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Jozy Altidore is close to Puebla of Liga MX. He will join the Mexican team on loan until December 31 of this year.
He [Jozy Altidore] will be going until January to Puebla FC. And Jozy initiated that loan. The agreement is in final stages and expected to be completed shortly. The U.S. international agreed Wednesday to the terms of the loan, which will expire on December 31.

The arrival of Jozy Altidore to the “Franja” would be to cover the absence of Venezuelan striker Fernando Aristeguieta, who suffered a tibia and fibula injury, which will keep him out for the next six to eight months.

His good performances at club level led to a call-up to the U.S. National Team, and he became the third all-time leading scorer with 42 goals in 115 games played.
If his arrival in Liga MX is confirmed, Puebla would become the tenth club in his career.
