Betting on the New York Knicks
The New York Knicks have struggled to find their pace in this NBA season, and after stringing together a three-game winning streak in mid-October, the team ended that month with two consecutive losses. In November, they have alternated between wins and losses, with the last of those results being a 120-107 thrashing of the Minnesota Timberwolves. They will undoubtedly want to put an end to the ups and downs this time.
The Knicks’ play in the paint has been one of their main strengths this season, with the team having the second-best average of rebounds per game in the league (48.8) and the third-best average of offensive rebounds (12.7). To win, their strategy will be to surpass their opponent in this section of the court.
Betting on the Brooklyn Nets
The Brooklyn Nets seemed to briefly bounce back following the departure of Steve Nash and under interim coach Jacque Vaughn after stringing together consecutive victories. However, they started November with a loss to the Bulls and lost again in their last game, being beaten by just two points by the Dallas Mavericks (96-94). Still, there are many upsides that can be taken from such a narrow loss.
For example, the defense, long Brooklyn’s Achilles heel, appears to be on the right track after the team averaged 9.6 steals over the last three games and didn’t concede more than 100 points in any of them.
JefeBet Prediction
While the match promises to be extremely entertaining (as it usually is in the clashes between the two franchises) we may see a low scoring game.
Since Nash’s departure, Brooklyn seems to have made the necessary adjustments on defense, and they showed they’re ready for any challenge after successfully stopping the Mavericks’ offense a couple of nights ago.
On the road, the Knicks are averaging 110.8 points per game, and in fact they’ve failed to score more than 110 points in their two games at the Barclays Center last season, which makes us even more confident in the under.
Prediction: Under (NYK 110 – BKN 108)
