This weekend marks the start of the Spanish La Liga 2022-23, and JefeBet has compiled a list of the top forwards who will compete in one of the best European soccer divisions.
Some names were left off the list due to the high caliber of the competition, but these five could not be overlooked.
Best forwards – La Liga 2022-23
Karim Benzema – Real Madrid
For many, the best forward in the world today plays at Real Madrid. Karim Benzema was the leader of the Spanish club’s great comebacks en route to the Champions League title last season and will start this year as the favorite to win the Ballon d’Or after scoring 27 goals in La Liga 2021-22.
Robert Lewandowski – Barcelona
Barcelona’s and La Liga’s big acquisition is the Polish forward, who should easily be in the top three of the best forwards in world soccer today. Robert Lewandowski scored 35 goals for Bayern Munich in the 2021-22 Bundesliga, and it is expected that he will continue to do so for Barcelona.
Vinicius Junior – Real Madrid
The young Brazilian player is coming off the back of his best season with Real Madrid alongside Benzema. Vinicius scored 17 goals last year in La Liga and marveled with his great speed to beat defenders. The 2022-23 season will be a great challenge for him, as he will have to prove that last year was not a fluke.
Raúl de Tomás – Espanyol
At 27 years of age, it is strange that Raúl de Tomás has not been given a bigger contract outside of Espanyol. The forward of the Spanish national team scored 17 goals last season and was very important for the “pajarito” team to maintain the category.
Arnaut Danjuma – Villarreal
In a historic season for Villarreal, in which they reached the semifinals of the Champions League for the first time and came within a whisker of the final, Danjuma was one of the Yellow Submarine’s mainstays with 10 goals in La Liga and six in the European competition. That talent also has him as one of the Netherlands’ attackers and as one of the top forwards on our list.
