The San Diego Padres this Monday can take a big deep breath after knowing the result of Manny Machado‘s X-Rays.

As reported by the team through its social networks, the star third baseman suffered a sprain in his left ankle, so he is expected to miss between three and four weeks of action.

Machado had to come out in the first episode of Sunday’s game against the Colorado Rockies after stepping on the initial in a bad way and suffering a spectacular fall that made more than one tremble.

After spending a long time lying on the ground and with visible signs of a lot of pain in his ankle, Manny had to be helped to leave the field. Something that made him think that he could have suffered a possible fracture.

Fortunately, when he felt himself slip, he was able to shift his weight to the right and probably avoid more serious damage. As good as it could be with what it looked like. We’ve got to wait for the swelling to go down and he gets treated. We’ll probably have a better idea of that [Monday].

Machado’s loss joins that of Fernando Tatis Jr., who has not been able to play yet this season and a few days ago it was known that he was not yet ready to play rehabilitation commitments.

Manny Machado Has Been the Offensive Soul of the Padres

Just when the Padres are locked in a fierce fight with the Los Angeles Dodgers for first place in the National League West, Manny Machado gets injured.

The 29-year-old player has been the offensive soul of San Diego with numbers worthy of projecting not only his best performance since he arrived in the organization, but also to fight for the MVP at the end of the campaign.

After 66 games played, Machado is second in the National League in batting average (.328) and OBP (.400), in addition to being among the circuit leaders in home runs (12), RBIs (46), OPS (.945) and total bases (138).
