The driver Max Verstappen made a harsh criticism of British driver Lewis Hamilton, who recently showed interest in buying a Premier League soccer team.

In the 2021 Formula 1 season we could realize that the Dutchman Max Verstappen and British Lewis Hamilton are not friends at all. In several races there were frictions due to situations on the track, but it was the last race that ended up breaking any kind of cordial relationship between them, as Verstappen won the World Championship in an epic way on the last lap of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix race, performing an extraordinary maneuver to overtake the Mercedes driver. This unleashed the fury of the British driver who was unable to clinch his eighth F1 crown.

They are currently in a new season and everything seems to indicate that the situation remains the same — or even worse — since recently, the Red Bull Racing driver made a harsh criticism of his fellow professional, who stated a few days ago that he is interested in buying Chelsea, a Premier League team that is for sale.

Hamilton gave €24 million to enable Sir Martin Broughton’s consortium to buy Chelsea and when the Red Bull driver was questioned whether he was aware of this, he replied:

“I’m a PSV [Eindhoven] fan and I would never buy Ajax. And if I was going to buy a football club I would want to be the full owner and to take the decisions myself, not own just a tiny percentage.”

What is Max Verstappen’s Criticism of Hamilton due to?

Max’s annoyance is because the Mercedes driver is a self-confessed supporter of the Premier League’s Arsenal.

“I thought he was an Arsenal fan? And if you are an Arsenal fan going for Chelsea, that is quite interesting. But everyone does what they want with their money, so let’s see what comes out of it.”

While Hamilton gives his contribution to acquire Chelsea, Verstappen gets Pole Position in the Grand Prix of Emilia-Romagna.

This Sunday will be the fourth date of the Formula 1 calendar and in Friday’s qualifying, the Dutchman got the honor position for the start, after a very eventful qualifying that had five red flags due to the rainy weather.

After stepping out of the single-seater, Max Verstappen gave a few words on how difficult qualifying was.

“It was tricky on the track. It was very slippery. It was a hectic and long qualifying. But, of course, in the end I’m very happy to be here.”

Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, who leads the Drivers’ Championship, will start from second position.

The Mexican driver, Checo Pérez, Max Verstappen’s teammate, will start from seventh place and Hamilton from thirteenth.
