MLS is preparing for the final stretch of the 2022 season, and Week 27 (out of the 34 matchdays that comprise the first phase) will feature two matches on Friday, nine on Saturday, and three on Sunday, from August 26-28. In the race to reach the playoffs, the fight is fairly even, especially among the teams trying to get into the top seven in each zone.

JefeBet would like to recommend you the three best matches to follow closely and also the predictions on what will happen in each one. The predictions are based on how each team is performing, as well as their individual and collective quality and their match history.

Betting Previews and Predictions for MLS Week 27 on Saturday, August 27, 2022

Philadelphia Union vs Colorado Rapids

MLS Week 27 Betting preview and predictions

Philadelphia Union has scary numbers: it’s the best scoring team in MLS (51), the one with the best goal difference (+31) and the one with the fewest goals conceded (20). They only lost four games, although in the last week they received a wake-up call: a 1-0 away loss to Dallas. Led by Jim Curtin, they have a reckless attacking duo of Hungary’s Daniel Gazdag and Argentina’s Julian Carranza. Both players have scored nearly half of Union’s goals, with Danish international striker Mikael Uhre also contributing significantly.

The Colorado Rapids won the MLS championship in 2010; however, they are no longer in the same level. The team ranks eleventh in Zone B, due to a very irregular season, consisting of 8 wins, 8 draws and 10 defeats. Chilean striker Diego Rubio is the Rapids’ main star, having scored 12 of the 37 goals scored. Managed by Robin Fraser, they are coming off a 1-1 draw with Houston Dynamo.

This game will be played on Saturday, August 27 at 7:30 PM ET, at Subaru Park, located in Chester, Pennsylvania.

Prediction: Philadelphia wins .

Austin FC vs Los Angeles FC

MLS Week 27 Betting preview and predictions

It’s a great opportunity for Austin FC to close the gap with the leader of Zone A, its next opponent, Los Angeles FC. The Texan team is second with 48 points, 9 behind the Californians, and has the top scorer in MLS in their attack, Argentine Sebastián Driussi, with 18 goals. With only three years since its founding, it is one of the youngest clubs in the top league in the United States. Austin is coached by North American Josh Wolff, and has two other experienced Argentine players: forward Maximiliano Urruti and midfielder Sebastián Druissi, the latter a candidate to be named MVP of the regular season. Last week, they received a wake-up call: they lost to Minnesota, 2-1.

Los Angeles FC also lost in their last game, to SJ Earthquakes, 2-1, on the road. However, the squad has a high enough point cushion to avoid danger. It is, along with its next rival, the one with the highest number of goals scored: 55. Colombian Cristian Arango, with 12 goals, is the top scorer for the team coached by American tactician Steven Cherundolo, although Carlos Vela, Giorgio Chiellini and Gareth Bale also stand out in this team.

This match will be played on Friday, August 26 at 8:00 PM ET at Q2 Stadium in Austin, Texas.

Prediction: Tie.

New York Red Bulls vs Inter Miami

MLS Week 27 Betting preview and predictions

The New York Red Bulls, ranked fourth in the Eastern Conference playoffs, are coming off a 1-1 tie against Cincinnati that left them unsatisfied. With Austrian Gerhard Struber at the helm, the Red Bulls arrive in the midst of an inconsistent performance, which the numbers cannot hide: they have won just one of their last five matches. Scotland’s Morgan Lewis is their strongest asset, scoring eleven of their 41 goals, while the keeper of the goal is Brazilian Carlos.

Inter Miami, on the other hand, seems to have taken off under the leadership of Englishman Phil Neville. The Herons are undefeated in five games, having won three of them. They are sixth in the Eastern Conference and in playoff position, but they are aware that everything is very tight and that one wrong step might knock them out. Spain’s Alejandro Pozuelo and Argentina’s Gonzalo Higuaín are the players who have spearheaded the Florida State team’s comeback.

This match will be played on Saturday, August 27 at 7:00 PM ET at Red Bull Arena in New Jersey.

Prediction: New York Red Bulls win.
