It will be Aljamain Sterling‘s second defense of the title he won and successfully defended against Russian Petr Yan. He has seven consecutive wins, dating back to his 2017 loss to Brazilian Marlon Moraes. Should Sterling keep it, it will undoubtedly be his most important victory in Dana White’s promotion.
The 33-year-old New Yorker did not have an easy time in his last two fights, in which he defeated Russian Yan. In the first fight, his opponent was disqualified for a knee; in the second one, he won narrowly in a controversial split decision. TJ Dillashaw will be the ideal opponent for him to show if he really has the hierarchy to reign at UFC bantamweight.

TJ Dillashaw was bantamweight champion from 2014 to 2016. In 2017, he won it again, but in January 2019, after a loss to Henry Cejudo, he was suspended for two years for testing positive in a doping control. It will be his second fight after his suspension, and he has already spiced up the clash by stating that he will be facing a fighter with a boring style.
His return to the octagon was in July, and he did so in triumphant fashion by defeating top bantamweight Cory Sandhagen.

The long time he spent away from the stage is undoubtedly a conditioning factor for TJ Dillashaw, who nevertheless showed to be fit in his return last July. However, Aljamain Sterling has also overcome difficult obstacles on his path as champion and may have a leg up if he can make it to the cards.
